Stars in Stars Quilt

Back in 2022 on one of my first quilt road trips, I ended up in Branson, Missouri at Quilts & Quilts The Fabric Shoppe off Gretna Road and saw the most beautiful patriotic quilt I had seen. This was back in the beginning of my quilt journey and since then I have seen many beautiful patriotic quilts that I would love to make, but in 2022 this one really stood out to me. I remember doing my usual walk through the store admiring all the beautiful fabrics, but ended up right back where this beautiful quilt was displayed.

The pattern is called, "Stars in Stars" by The Fabric Addict and includes the instructions for two sizes, a 63" x 79" throw size (which is the size I made) and an 88"x 104" queen size. Quilts and Quilts was selling kits and since I was new in my journey, I purchased the kit with the hopes of getting it made before the holidays in July.

Fast forward to 2025 and many quilts later and I finally got this beauty completed. I like the saying, "it ain't perfect, but it's finished!" and that is exactly how I feel about this quilt.

The fabric in the kit was Tonga Batiks Fireworks and included the fabric for the top and binding. I did not buy the backing until recently and purchased it from Missouri Star Quilt Company as at the time I could not for the life of me remember the name of the quilt store I bought the kit from, but me being me, I researched and researched until I figured out exactly where I bought this kit so that I could include it in this blog post.
I quilted her on Miss Moxie using the pattern design, Stars and Stripes from Intelligent Quilting. I resized to 9 inches and completed as an edge to edge.

She will now go on display in my home from May to July as a representation of not only the 4th of July, but Memorial Day as well. She might even get to come out on Veteran's Day as I honor those who have served and still living amongst us.
