To prepare for the class, I cut and prepped all my pieces before heading to Utah, knowing a three-hour session would only give me time to complete a few blocks. During class, I finished two blocks, then spent my evenings in the hotel room piecing together several more strawberry blocks.
Once I returned home, I couldn’t wait to keep going. I continued piecing block after block until the quilt top came together this past week. It was such a satisfying moment to see the cheerful berries all assembled into a beautiful quilt top that will hold memories of both the trip and the time spent sewing in between.
Now, she’s ready for the next step—quilting on Miss Moxie. It might be a few days (or weeks!) before I can get her loaded onto the longarm, but I know this quilt will be a sweet reminder of my Garden of Quilts experience every time I see it.
