As the year slowly came to a close, this quilt found its own quiet moment to shine — a fitting finish to 2025 here at Sew Serenity Cottage.
For this project, I chose the ever-classic log cabin quilt block, a style that feels timeless, comforting, and deeply rooted in quilting tradition. There’s something grounding about building a quilt one strip at a time, watching the center grow outward into a balanced and familiar design. The simplicity of the log cabin block allowed the fabric to truly take center stage.
The fabric line I used is Countryside, designed by Lisa Audit. This collection is soft, warm, and gently nostalgic — filled with florals and hues that feel right at home in a cozy cottage setting. The palette paired beautifully with the structured nature of the log cabin blocks, creating a quilt that feels both classic and calm.
The finished quilt measures 41½” square, making it a sweet, versatile size — perfect as a wall hanging, table topper, or a cherished lap quilt. Though the quilting itself was completed back in November, this quilt patiently waited its turn before heading to the long arm.
She finally made her way onto Miss Moxie on Sunday, December 28th, becoming the very last quilt quilted on Miss Moxie in 2025 — a milestone that feels especially meaningful as I reflect on a year full of stitches, goals, and finished projects.
For this quilt, I changed things up and selected a new pantograph design called Happy Flowers. The playful floral motif adds just the right amount of movement and softness, echoing the florals in the Countryside fabric without overpowering the piecing. It was a fun change from my usual go-to designs and a perfect way to finish out the year.
