Where Every Stitch Tells a Story: My 2025 Quilting Recap

Looking Back at My 2025 Quilting Goals

At the beginning of the year, I set a goal to complete at least 13 quilts in 2025, most of them block-of-the-month projects. It felt ambitious, but I wanted something that would challenge me, keep me consistent, and encourage me to show up in my sewing room month after month.

Throughout the year, I documented my progress here on the blog—sharing completed blocks, small victories, and the occasional struggle that comes with long-term projects. These quilts were in addition to other quilts that I would see throughout the year and add to my workload.

Reaching the Finish Line

Now that December is here, I can look back with gratitude and pride in what I was able to accomplish. Of the original 13 I committed to, 8 were completely finished, 2 are still in the works and the final 3 are undone and still undecided if I will do them in the future.

In addition, I completed another 11 quilts bringing my total for 2025 to 19 quilts. WOW! that seems insane. It was a lot of work, but is was also deeply rewarding to see each quilt come together over tiime.

One of the most meaningful parts of this accomplishment is that I didn’t just complete the quilts—I quilted every single one myself on Miss Moxie. That felt like a full-circle moment, turning tops into finished quilts entirely in my own space.

The One Still in Progress

The only quilt started in 2025 that isn’t finished yet is Threads of Grace. This project was designed to extend into January and didn’t officially begin until November, so it naturally flows into early 2026. I’m looking forward to finishing it without rushing the process.

Block of the Month & Sew Along Reflections

Of the original 13 quilts, six were planned as block-of-the-month or sew-along projects. One was intentionally set aside, but the remaining five were all completed by December. Staying committed to these monthly projects taught me patience, consistency, and the value of steady progress.

The Completed Quilts

Three of the remaining quilts—Vintage Daisy, Scattered Squares, and Jelly Roll Challenge—were fully completed and each has its own dedicated blog post. These projects represent the joy of seeing an idea move from fabric pull to finished quilt.

Quilts That Will Carry Forward

Two quilts—Holiday House and Five and Dime—were not completed this year.

The final two—Bitty Brick House and Woven Star Scrappy—are ongoing scrap projects. Each block was made using leftovers from quilts I completed this year, and my goal is to have at least 12 blocks (or more) before assembling each into a mini quilt. These feel like quiet, slow projects, and I expect they’ll continue to grow alongside my 2026 makes.

Favorite Finishes of the Year

Out of everything I made this year, two quilts stand out the most. The Quilted Snowman, which will hang in my living room throughout January, brings me so much seasonal joy. I also truly loved the block-of-the-month with Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life. That project was thoughtful, well-paced, and enjoyable from start to finish, and I would happily participate again.

On the other hand, I won’t be joining Corey Yoder’s next BOM. The finished quilt didn’t resonate with me, and that experience reminded me how important it is to choose projects that truly inspire.

Other Finishes

The quilts I had on my goal list were not my only finishes this year. Below are all the other quilts I completed from start to finish. I have one that I finished but will not share and that was Sea Breeze that I done when I went on a retreat in May. The blocks are churn dash and none of my points lined up so I will have to decide if I want to remake or just let it go.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As I move into 2026, I haven’t finalized my quilting plans yet—and that feels intentional. This year taught me the importance of balance, choosing projects wisely, and allowing space for creativity to unfold naturally.

2025 was a year of commitment, follow-through, and growth, and I’m grateful for every stitch that led me here.

Happy Quilting!
