The Quilted Snowman

At the start of the year, I set a personal goal to complete several quilts throughout 2025, and one of the top contenders on my list was The Quilted Snowman by Lori Holt. Fat Quarter Shop hosted a block-of-the-month (BOM) quilt-along (QAL), releasing the pattern in 21 parts with the intention of completing the quilt by December—two parts per month.

By the end of February, I had finished up through part 12. But with leftover fabric calling my name for another project—my Vintage Christmas sew-along—I decided to shift gears. I kicked it into fast mode and powered through the remaining parts (13–21) before heading out on vacation March 9th. Sometimes inspiration strikes, and you just have to ride the momentum!

Though I completed the top early in the year, I held off on sharing until I had quilted it on Miss Moxie (my longarm machine). I’m so glad I waited—because now I get to share the full, finished quilt with you!

I’m thrilled with how it turned out—far better than I imagined. At 88" x 98", this is officially the largest quilt I’ve ever made, and I couldn’t be prouder of it.

Stay tuned—more finishes to come as I continue working through my 2025 quilt goals!
